Therapy Services

Sometimes in life we feel down, stuck, or lost. Other times, we feel "trapped in our thoughts" or caught in a web of worry. Some of us struggle with intense anger or difficulty controlling some (or all!) of our emotions. Some of us feel numb. Others may have difficulty facing or making decisions (big or small), interacting with others, communicating our ideas, or setting and maintaining boundaries. Each and every one of us has faced a struggle at some point in life. You've come to the right place, and it's important to know that you're not alone. Therapy can help, and I am here to support you through it.

I provide therapy for a wide range of personal needs, including: Generalized Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, specific phobias, depression, Bipolar Disorder, personality disorders, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, communication skills and assertiveness, maintaining sobriety, anger management, and parent training.

I am experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults of all ages, and families. I am also trained and experienced in Trauma Therapy, and can assist individuals of all ages in the processing, healing, growth, and empowerment that can help us overcome abuse or traumatic experiences in our pasts.

I encourage you to reach out to me for a free phone or video consultation. After all…you’ve gotten this far! Starting therapy can feel like an intimidating or overwhelming decision or task, but I want to make it easy for you. Please call or e-mail with any questions you might have (and remember, no question is “silly” or too small), or just so that we can discuss your needs and see if I’ll be a good fit to help you.

Online Therapy / Teletherapy

We all learned a lot (both good and bad) from the COVID-19 pandemic, but one really helpful thing that we all came away with was "telehealth." It became a buzz word fast when we were all locked down and doing everything remotely. But then...it seems that it stuck! Teletherapy remains so popular that I, like many other therapists, have continued offering teletherapy services even today. In fact, my therapy practice is currently fully remote.

Teletherapy would mean using a secure video feed in order to hold our sessions. I use a HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom, so it is designed to protect your information and our connection. It’s easy to access…as easy as clicking on an e-mailed link on your laptop, or typing in a session code if you choose to use the app on your Apple or Android phone or tablet.

Some of the benefits of teletherapy include:

  • Wider access to therapists who you think are a great fit for you. Now you have more choice in selecting your therapist based on their experience, areas of specialty, and the “fit” or early connection you feel with them…not just on whether the office is close enough to home or work.
  • Eliminate the travel time and lower stress. Let’s face it…sometimes we spend too much time in the car. Maybe you don’t have reliable or consistent personal transportation, or you might have limited mobility due to a health or even mental health concern. Teletherapy breaks down these barriers and makes therapy more easily accessible for you.
  • More flexible scheduling. If you have a busy schedule, unpredictable work hours, or a questionable commute, it can make scheduling weekly therapy appointments difficult. By using teletherapy, we have more flexibility to fit you in to available appointment slots that work for you.

If you’re not quite sure if this is right for you, we can hold our free initial consultation using the teletherapy “virtual office,” so you can see the technology in action. All I would need is your e-mail address to get started.

All you need for online therapy is laptop (or smartphone) and an internet connection!

Therapy Fees and Payment Options

The cost of therapy is often a big question for my clients. I don’t publish my rates online since the cost of therapy varies depending on the type of service you need. However, I’m happy to share these numbers with you at any time, so feel free to drop me an e-mail or give me a call. I also offer special rates for full- or part-time students.

I am pleased to share that I am currently accepting Oscar/Optum, United Healthcare, Aetna, TriCare insurance plans, as well as Medicare aneed many Medicaid plans for therapy. Touch base with me so we can check your specific benefits. More insurance plans will be added to this list in the upcoming months, so if you're hoping to use a different insurance not yet listed here, send me an e-mail to check in or keep an eye on this page for updates.

Alternatively, I accept cash/self-pay so you don't have to wait to get started. I will happily provide my self-paying clients with itemized invoices upon request, so you can submit a claim to your insurance company to be reimbursed for costs which are covered by your plan.

If you decide to begin services with me, you can pay in a way that's convenient for you. I accept all major credit cards, debit cards, HSA and FSA cards, cash, and personal checks.
